Occupational Work Supervision
This Construction NVQ in Occupational Work Supervision will provide an opportunity for candidates who currently are working in a relevant Construction discipline to obtain an industry-recognised qualification that demonstrates their achieved levels of competence. Candidates will be assessed on-site to complete this NVQ primarily in order to obtain CSCS certification. The requirement and demand from the sector for all on-site workers to be eligible and registered for the CSCS card, which is increasingly becoming the accepted industry standard, means that there would be a potential barrier to employment for essential craft disciplines if there is no recognised qualifications to recognise their unique competencies.
From the wider perspective, this NVQ will increase the capacity of the Construction industry’s provider network and enable them to offer and assess candidates contributing towards the industry’s drive towards a ‘Qualified Workforce’.
The Edexcel Construction NVQ in Occupational Work Supervision is based on National Occupational Standards produced by the SSC ConstructionSkills and supported by the existing overarching assessment strategy for Construction Craft and Operative NVQ/SVQ level 1, 2 and 3, UKCG approved September 2004.
